When you have induced ovulation and need to massage out eggs for
collection be sure to do so with care. You should initially hold her the same way you do
when you inject. Once she is calm, hold her inside rear leg in your free hand and apply
gentle pressure on her stomach and back or side with your thumbs. Never massage the
same frog more than once an hour and do not use her more than four times over the course
of one day, no matter how nice her eggs are!
The danger in squeezing the frogs too hard is that the eggs in her
abdominal cavity will rupture and lyse leading to infection, sepsis, and death.
